Fillings

At Pentino Dental, we use tooth colored (composite) restorations to produce an esthetic and biocompatible result that lasts for years with proper home care. Composite resins, or tooth-colored fillings, provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size fillings that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth. They are a good choice for people who prefer that their fillings look more natural. Learn more here. Occasionally, cavities or fractures may be too large for a composite to be a long-term solution and we may recommend doing an inlay or onlay.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and onlays restore cavities and fractures that are too large to be restored by a typical filling. It can take two appointments for the inlays and onlays treatment to be complete; however, many times we can do this in one appointment. Like fillings, inlays and onlays blend aesthetically with the treated tooth and the rest of the teeth to achieve a natural appearance. Learn more here.

Crowns and Bridges

Like inlays and onlays, crowns can take 1 to 2 appointments for the treatment to be completed and permanently bonded to the tooth. A crown is a cap that is placed to cover the tooth to restore its shape and size, strength, and improve its appearance. Crowns restore teeth that cannot be restored by fillings or inlays/onlays. A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth, restoring both aesthetics and function. A crown can help strengthen a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth remaining to hold the filling. Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, protect a weak tooth from breaking or restore one that’s already broken. A crown is a good way to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped. Veneers

Using state-of-the-art technology, we fabricate veneers that result in a preparation that removes little or no healthy tooth structure. Veneers can improve the appearance of stained, crowded or chipped teeth to create a beautiful smile. Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front side of teeth. They are an option for correcting stained, chipped, decayed or crooked teeth. Veneers are handcrafted by our dental laboratory artist to create your custom aesthetic. Placing veneers is usually an irreversible process, because it’s necessary to remove a small amount of enamel from your tooth to accommodate the shell. Learn more here.

Root Canals

If you have a severely damaged, decaying tooth or a serious tooth infection (abscess), we may recommend a root canal treatment. Root canals are used to repair and save your tooth instead of removing it. A root canal treatment usually takes 1 or 2 office visits to complete. There is little to no pain because we use local anesthesia so you don’t feel the procedure. Once the procedure is complete, you should no longer feel the pain you felt before having it done. As long as plenty of healthy tooth remains after a root canal, your tooth can last you many years without worry, and you would avoid the discomfort of having a tooth removed. Learn more here.
